McDonald’s manager in Colorado Springs is being praised for helping save a young girl after trusting his instincts. When the manager saw a man he recognized as a convicted sex offender enter the restaurant with a girl under 10 years old, he immediately knew something wasn’t right. The 35-year-old suspect had been involved in a previous incident at the restaurant, so the manager immediately called 911 before offering the man and the girl some free food to keep them there until police arrived.
Police quickly arrested the suspect, who was wanted on over 10 outstanding warrants. Officers determined the child had been lured away from her apartment complex and did not belong with the man. He’s now facing multiple charges, including second-degree kidnapping, child enticement, and failure to register as a sex offender.
Following the man’s arrest, the girl was safely reunited with her grateful parents. Caitlin Ford of the Colorado Springs Police Department praised the manager for staying calm and responding appropriately to the situation.
