Next month, Major League Baseball will host the World Series otherwise known as the great AMERICAN pastime. This month, Scotland has hosted its World Conker’s Championships at Easdale and there's already news of a scandal. What? You say you've never heard of CONKERS? Conker’s is a child’s game which has been around since the 1800’s. It's played by two contestants, each with a Horse Chestnut seed suspended on a string- Then each takes a turn. While one dangles their Horse Chestnut seed, otherwise known as a Conker- in mid-air - the other takes a shot at conking or smashing their opponent’s seed. Well, 82 year David Jenkins (also known as King Conker) has been accused of using a metal conker he allegedly kept hidden in his pocket to smash his competition. Jenkins claims he does own a metal Conker but would never use it to cheat in a competition. So far World Championship Conker’s Officials are reviewing the CCTV video to attempt to make a ruling. Meanwhile KING CONKER has been allowed to keep his trophy.
