And the medals go to......

So far the Team USA has been holding its own at the Winter Olympics although Norway seems to be the perennial powerhouse when it comes to sports performed on ice and snow. In the all-time and recent Winter Olympic medal counts, Team USA is as usual in the  top three. To date, Team USA ranks second in total all-time medals having won 330 as of 2026; however Norway dominates with significantly more total and gold medals, in both historic and current winter Olympic standings.  At the start of the day Sunday it was Norway, Italy and  Team USA. Over the weekend, one US athlete struck gold twice when speed skater Jordan Stolz won his second gold medal in the 500m on Saturday, setting an Olympic record. Additionally Women’s Dual Moguls Skiers Jaelin Kauf  and Elizabeth Lemley brought home medals of their own.  Kauf won a Silver and Lemly earned a Bronze. So at our last accounting, on Sunday the U.S. had 17 total medals (5 gold, 8 silver, 4 bronze).
