Mark Hamill Says He's Done Doing "Star Wars"

Mark Hamill has confirmed he has no plans to return as Luke Skywalker in future “Star Wars” projects, not even as a Force ghost. “I had my time. I’m appreciative of that. But I really think they should focus on the future and all the new characters,” Hamill tells “ComicBook.com.” His comments come as Lucasfilm is working on a film centered on Daisy Ridley’s Rey, set after “The Rise of Skywalker.” That film will follow Rey’s efforts to rebuild the Jedi Order based on Luke’s teachings, so some fans had assumed Luke could pop up in some form, whether that be as a Force ghost or as a flash back. Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy has previously described the galaxy in the next movie as “post-war, post-First Order,” with the Jedi “in disarray.”
