It took eight years and one incredible run for Michaela Shiffrin to prove that she is the world’s top Alpine Skier. That happened yesterday when she struck gold during her first slalom run - her final event at the Olympics. When she did, Shiffrin became one of a handful of Alpine skiers to win three career Olympic gold medals and the only American in history to ever do it. Here, in the final days of the games, most Team USA fans are excited at the thought of picking up the medal count a bit during some of today's overlapping events. At present, TEAM USA is firmly in third place in overall medal count just behind Italy in second and Norway considerably ahead of the pack at number one with two days to go before the closing ceremony on Sunday.
