Stranger Gives Guitar To Teen In Store Testing Them Out

Havelock, North Carolina, 16-year-old Evan Sterling recently experienced a life-changing moment while testing guitars at a local music store. A stranger who’d been listening to him play returned with a surprise, a brand new Fender Telecaster worth over $15-hundred, which he gave to the teen without asking for anything in return. The man said the guitar was his and then quietly left, leaving Evan and his father, Gary, stunned by the unexpected act of generosity.

Inspired by rock legends like Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin, Evan only began playing guitar five months ago after getting his first guitar as a Christmas present from his dad. The store owner confirmed the stranger’s gift, saying it’s not the first time he’s seen the man give away a valuable guitar to a stranger.

Moved by the gift, the teen says that he now wants to pay the kindness forward one day by surprising another young musician with a high-end guitar. His father was initially in disbelief, but came around to seeing the gesture as genuine and heartfelt. The experience has left a lasting impression on both Evan and his dad as an example of the power of kindness and music.
