People show their patriotism in lots of different ways, from voting to putting stickers on their cars. Folks all over the country claim to love America, but some parts of the country express it more than others. With just a few weeks until the Fourth of July holiday, a new report highlights where people show their patriotism the most.
- WalletHub has just released their list of the Most Patriotic States in the U.S.
- They compared all 50 states on 13 indicators, in the areas of Military and Civic Engagement.
- States were ranked on factors like the share of adults who voted in the last presidential election, the number of active duty military members and veterans, and AmeriCorps volunteers per capita.
- So, which state is the most patriotic this year? Virginia tops the list.
- It has the third-highest number of active-duty military personnel and the second-highest number of veterans.
- Virginia also has a high voter turnout rate, with 72.9% of residents voting in the 2024 presidential election, compared to the national average of 66%.
- On the flip side, Arkansas is the least patriotic state overall. It’s dead last for Civic Engagement and 29th for Military Engagement.
- New York is the second least patriotic, followed by Louisiana and Alabama, with Florida rounding out the bottom five.
