Tracy Lawrence Gives His Opinion On Zach Top

Zach Top's contemporary country-meets-90s-country sound has created a lot of buzz around both him and his first single, "Sounds Like The Radio." So what does one of the biggest country stars of the 90s think of the country newcomer? Tracy Lawrence has heard the comparisons, not only in Top's music but his on-stage look, which could have been stolen straight from Lawrence's wardrobe in 1994. He recently posted a side-by-side pic to showcase the similar attire...so does he see Top as a tribute or a rip-off? "He’s so talented. I think it’s awesome," Lawrence said of the comparisons to Top. "I write with Carson Chamberlain that produced Zach’s project. Carson and I’ve been friends for a long time, and the moment that I heard (Top) sing, it was like, okay, I hear Ricky Skaggs, I hear Keith Whitley, I hear Daryle Singletary, like all three of them at the same time. Just such a pure traditional country voice. Great skill set, great chops, and a fantastic musician too." High praise indeed from one of the best to ever do it.
