Temperatures across Lincoln County are dangerously cold this morning with wind chills in the single digits. But we are nowhere close to a record cold. Since official records started being recorded in 1955, the coldest temperature on record is a minus 26 degrees on January 30, 1966. This morning the wind chill is hovering near 10 degrees making outdoor activity dangerous. Frostbite of exposed skin can occur quickly at these wind chill temperatures so dress in layers, wear a warm hat or even better a full facemask knit toboggan or wear a scarf, gloves and limit outdoor activity.
