Beginning in January law enforcement personnel with the Sheriff’s department will receive an extra $165 in their next 13 pay checks, ending June 30, 2026. The additional bonus pay was approved on a twenty-to-nothing vote with one abstention. As I reported to you last month, Commissioner Ricky Bryant who is the Secretary of the county budget committee told commissioners in November, Lincoln County deputies are the lowest paid of all deputies in surrounding counties. Between now and the end of June commissioners will look for ways to fund a permanent pay increase to bring the pay deputies receive more in line with surrounding counties pay scales.
