Sunday marked the beginning of National Correctional Officers Week, observed May 3rd through the 9th. Correctional Officers work behind secured doors, out of sight, the job they preform almost deifies description. They often face violent, belligerent inmates which demands they maintain constant situational awareness, steady judgement, and strong professionalism. They often work long, grueling hours, face difficult situations and moments that require both strength and compassion. Thank you to our correctional officers for the job you do.
