District Attorney General Brent Cooper said an officer involved shooting Sunday night in Maury County is being investigated by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation at the request of the 22nd Judicial District Attorney General Brent Cooper is investigating an officer involved shooting Sunday night in Maury County. Cooper said a suspect was fatally wounded in the shooting, but no law enforcement officers were hurt. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation identified the suspect as 22-year-old Jeremiah Dobbins. Maury County authorities said deputies were looking for a suspect from a shooting incident that happened in another Lawrence County. TBI agents said Maury County deputy went to a residence in the 900 block of Southport Road in Mount Pleasant Sunday evening to search for the subject wanted in Lawrence County. Dobbins allegedly pulled out a weapon in front of the deputy, and the deputy fired multiple times. Dobbins was injured and taken to the hospital, where he later died.
