Fayetteville Fire Department is not conducting a door to door fund raiser but Park City Volunteers do have a legitimate door to door fund raiser underway.
Fayetteville Police continue to look for a scammer who was targeting residents primarily in Fayetteville posing as a fund raising group to benefit Fayetteville Fire Department. There are no authorized fund raisers for the Fayetteville Fire Department. This evening an official with the Park City Fire Department contacted me to say they are doing a door to door fund raiser that is legitimate. Doug Campbell, Lincoln County Fire Chief said anyone asking for donations should have a letter of authorization on company letterhead stating who the individual is and who they are soliciting funds for. IF you are unsure or have questions call the EMA office before giving money to anyone.
