Temperatures are plummeting across southern middle Tennessee. Pulaski is down to 20 degrees and Fayetteville is currently 25 degrees. With wind chill about 16 degrees. Roadways are now covered in black ice according to Fayetteville Police and Lincoln county Sheriff Tull Malone. Shelbyville Highway has become a solid sheet of ice and TDOT is expected to officially close that highway. TDOT is suggesting that any roads that are iced up should be closed because any treatment will be ineffective since any melting will almost immediately refreeze. Motorists should stay home and off the roads. A cold weather advisory is in affect till noon tomorrow. Temperatures is expect to fall to about 12 degrees. Fayetteville Public utilities is currently reporting one customer in the extreme southeastern corner of the county without power.
