The National Weather Service in Huntsville has confirmed that an EF-1 and an EF-0 tornado touched down in the New Market area just off Winchester Road Monday afternoon.
The National Weather Service in Huntsville has confirmed that an EF-1 and an EF-0 tornado touched down in the New Market area just off Winchester Road yesterday afternoon. A severe thunderstorm moving through the area about 4 p.m. spun up two brief tornados. The EF-1 had estimated winds of 90 miles per hour and stayed on the ground for 5.51 miles. The smaller tornado, the EF-0 had estimated winds of 80 miles per hour and stayed on the ground for about two and three quarter miles. There were no injuries reported.
