Work Continues on the Lincoln County Comprehensive and Growth Plans

More public hearings are scheduled on the Lincoln County Comprehensive and Growth Plans.

Work on the Comprehensive and Growth Plans for Lincoln County is continuing. Thursday two more public hearings are scheduled. The public hearing at 6 p.m. will deal with the Urban Growth Boundary for Ardmore, Fayetteville and Petersburg. There were no public comments at last weeks meeting. The 6 o’clock meeting Thursday will be followed immediately by another meeting at 7 p.m. that will be held by the Growth Plan Coordinating Committee to get public input regarding the County’s perspective of the growth plan. Another series of meetings will then be held next week on August 21 at 6 and 6:30. The revised Growth Plan will give county commissioners the option to re-zone certain properties but does not automatically change the current zoning designations. It is important for the agriculture and farming interest in the county to attend these meetings, according to Bruce Steelman, Agricultural Extension Agent for Lincoln County.
